Achievements

Long-term planning for new communities in the North West and South West Growth Centres began in 2005.

  • Jun 2006 - The first round of releases were secured, constituting 39,500 lots and land for employment in both Growth Centres
  • Oct 2006 - The Growth Centres Development Code is released, setting out the 'planning rules' to guide new development from the initial staging for release, to the design of a Precinct, to how a neighbourhood will look on the ground.
  • Dec 2006 - Confirmed the Special Infrastructure Contribution, a levy to help fund key State infrastructure
  • Nov 2007 - First sod turned in Colebee Precinct in the North West Growth Centre
