The Freedom of Information Act 1989 (FOI) ceased operation on 30 June 2010. It was replaced by the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPAA) on 1 July 2010.

FOI applications received before 1 July 2010 will be dealt with under the FOI Act. FOI applications received from 1 July onwards will be dealt with under GIPAA.
